Gratitude from France

The Awarding Ceremony of the winners of the Eleventh International Commemorative Coin Contest “Coin Constellation-2017” was held on 22 September 2017 in Moscow.

It was held in the framework of the Eighth International Coin Conference and Exhibition COINS-2017. This year the competition was presented to 268 commemorative coins from 40 participants from 27 countries. Under the terms of the competition, all these coins were issued from 1 January to 31 December 2016.

Coin “French Excellence Van Cleef &Arpels”, which was made at Monnaie de Paris, took the second place in the nomination “Gold coin of the year”.

Also Monnaie de Paris was awarded the prize “For contribution to the development of the commemorative coin market”.

Rudolf Kremp, deputy commercial director of Monnaie de Paris, could not personally attend the Awarding Ceremony. But he sent a video, where he expressed his gratitude to the organizer of the contest – the Water Mark publishing house, the members of the international jury of the contest, the sponsors of the Eighth International Coin Conference and Exhibition COINS-2017. He also briefly described how the unique coin “French Excellence Van Cleef &Arpels ” was created.

Coin program “Football 2018”

Director of the Service Individuals Department of the ORGBANK LTD will compare the scale of the coin program “Football 2018” and “Sochi 2014”, will make a detailed review of the new series coins, and will focus the delegate’s attention on new quality standards and a new form of coin packaging.

World market of precious metals: situation, price dynamics, perspective

The delegates of COINS-2017 will get know about the role of the case in design practice

In the conference will be feature well-known designers of coins, technologists, investors, European marketing specialists and representatives of national banks.

Within the first session of COINS-2017, which will be held on September 22, Svetlana Nekrasova, Chief specialist, Issue and Cash Operations Directorate, Head Cash Circulation Department of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, will make a presentation.

The National Bank of the Republic of Belarus is a traditional participant of the COINS. The coins presented at the booth of the Belarusian regulator always attract many visitors of the exhibition, and reports of Ms. Nekrasova are allocated by a deep knowledge of the material and a wide visual range. For example, last year the participants of COINS-2016 could visually trace the history of the 500th anniversary of Belarusian book printing, expressed in modern coins and medals. It should be noted that Svetlana Nekrasova was awarded the prize “For the contribution to the development of commemorative coins market” at the awarding ceremony of the laureates of the “Coin Constellation-2016”.

Investment coin “George the Victorious” – 1 ounce of gold

Roman Olivanchik is a traditional participant of the COINS. As a rule, his speeches at sessions, which are devoted to investments, always gather a lot of listeners and cause heated discussions.

At this time analyst of JSC “Architecture of Finance” will touch upon the topic of one-ounce gold coins “George the Victorious”.

You will ask a rhetorical question: “Is the Bank of Russia puts into circulation gold coins “George the Victorious “of such mass?”

And you will be right! Since 2006, the Central Bank has been issuing gold ” The Victorious ” with a denomination of 50 rubles and weight of 7.78 grams (1/4 troy ounce). The quality of these coins is “uncirculated”. In 2012, the Bank of Russia issued gold coins denomination of 50 rubles (7.78 grams) and 100 rubles (15.55 grams) in “proof” quality in a limited edition (by 10000 pieces).

Gold investment coins “George the Victorious ” with a mass of 1 troy ounce are not minted in Russia. Moreover, even in the Central Bank plan of issuing into circulation of commemorative and investment coins in 2017-2018, these coins do not appear…

New format of COINS

Eighth International Coin Conference and Exhibition COINS-2017 will take place on 22-23 of September 2017 in Moscow on the traditional venue – Radisson Slavyanskaya Hotel and Business Centre.

But compared with last year the substantial changes were made in programme of COINS-2017:

  • 22 September – Conference for professional market players, where topical issues of commemorative and investment coin market will be discussed.
  • 22 September – The Awarding Ceremony of the 11th International Commemorative Coins Contest «Coin Constellation-2017»
  • 23 September – Numismatic Seminars for visitors.
  • 22-23 September – Exhibition working hours.
